Which pieces fit your board

Pieces should match the square size: the king’s base should take up roughly half to three quarters of a square. A simple rule from our own sets: an 85 mm king suits a 40–41 cm board, 90 mm a 48 cm board and 95 mm a 52–54 cm board.

Pieces in a box are easier to store and carry; pieces without a box cost less if you already have somewhere to keep them. Boards without pieces are in Chess boards.
